Synopsis

Wind turbines, with a few exceptions, do not emit pollutants into the air or water, and they do not utilize water for cooling. The turbines may also decrease the dependence on quantity of power generated from fossil fuels, resulting in lower air contamination and CO2 emissions. Wind farms are groups of wind turbines, having a small footprint, placed on open ground, on mountain slopes, or offshore in bodies of water.
